ABOUT RACHEL LEUNG
Hi, I’m Rachel Leung! As a first-year Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences (iBioMed) student at McMaster University, I’m on a mission to learn how to think like an engineer and lead with empathy through human-centred design.I’m fascinated by how engineering, medicine, and entrepreneurship intersect to improve lives. Through biomedical design and research projects, I apply my skills in Python, 3D modelling (CAD), and lab techniques to bridge innovative, forward-thinking ideas and scientific principles for healthcare solutions.Beyond the classroom, I’m an active community member advocating for health and gender equity. With the non-profit Ontario Saves Lives, I organize CPR and naloxone training workshops that strengthen public health safety and awareness. I also am honoured to serve as the First-Year Representative for McMaster Women in Engineering, working to empower diverse voices in STEM.My current interests include biomaterials, nanotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology. I’m seeking research opportunities for Summer 2026 and would love to connect with professionals and mentors conducting projects in these fields across healthcare.Always open to learning, collaborating, and creating something that matters.
