Roles/Responsibilities• Manager for the Enterprise Program History Pod including oversight of cultural resources work; strategic planning for History pod including goals, hiring, and portfolio of services; assigning and reviewing project work.• Management of project staff and work that identify, research, evaluate, monitor, and review historic properties under NHPA Sections 106 and 110. Projects include compliance reports and technical documentation, eligibility determinations, findings of effect, developing mitigation for adverse impacts, monitoring, and NEPA specialist reports in all Regions for both archaeological and historic resources.• Oversight of negotiated agreements and heritage activities pursuant to the NHPA between Forests, State Historic Preservation Offices, ACHP, Tribes, and other consulting parties in regard to effects on historic properties; implement negotiated work.• Oversight and writing of interpretive plans, interpretive media, collections management plans, and other documents related to interpretation.Accomplishments• Produce HERstory Oral History Project with the Office of Civil Rights highlighting contributions of women in the Forest Service for the Inside the Forest Service newsletter. • Complete numerous oral histories to fill institutional knowledge gaps. Worked with universities and graduate students to produce oral histories and website media. Worked with National Forest Service Library to create first agency curated oral collection.• Work with the Office of Civil Rights and external partners to identify underrepresented and minority employees in order to highlight their involvement within and contributions to the agency.• Participant in developing the Enterprise Program Multi-Cultural Committee that seeks to share and provide education on diversity and inclusion within the work place through hiring tools, best practices, and inclusive project design.
