My role, when coaching my clients, young or old, is to teach them to fish. Having strong counseling and coaching skills helps me with listening, supporting, and asking the right questions to help them customize the “fishing” process. My ultimate goal is for them to learn the skills they need to successfully job search after they leave the comfort our coaching sessions. CAREER MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT/JOB SEARCH STRATEGIST AND COACH I have advised individuals from high school to college students and alumni to working professionals on how to effectively strategize an internship and/or job search. I help people figure out their strengths, skills, interests and values to determine how they match up with a company culture/professional position. The best chance for a positive outcome comes through combining their self-reflection with active and targeted networking and research. RESUME CRITIC AND WHISPERER Having learned the nuances of how to navigate MS Word and Google Docs I am very comfortable working with content to make it fit effectively on a single page (or beyond for more experienced professionals). Using strong counseling and detective skills, I work closely with my clients to discern what is critical and present in the most action/goal oriented way. EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION PROPONENT Internships are a fantastic way for a student to apply theory to practice. Students discern what type of work environment works best with their personality, skills, interests and values. Many companies are willing to “convert” interns to full time positions whenever possible as it saves them time and money. The value of internships, pre-professional experience, and even volunteering, cannot be underestimated!    Support 25+ career changer students/graduates at a time who are completing an immersive technology bootcamp in successful job search by using active listening and counseling strategies • Educate and guide individuals on strategies with resume presentation and content, interview techniques, networking, and overall job search to maximize chances to successfully land new employment • Collaborate with a team of 60+ peer coaches to maintain up to date knowledge on job search trends that can be easily disseminated to student caseload • Communicate regularly with Employer Partnership account executives regarding individual students’ needs and focus to facilitate successful employment matches • Contribute to ongoing Slack discussions in various channels regarding to help with resolution of operational issues, troubleshooting challenging cases, promoting and advocating students for job opportunities • Collaborate with team of cross department members on a DEI task force to discsuss strategies for successful establishment of internal to staff affinity groups; helped to create comprehensive interview list to bring on group leaders using multiple resources • Facilitate a monthly coaches discussion group in order to allow for processing of shared experiences in a supportive environment • Selected to be one of a small group of coaches to provide feedback to students on their resumes and LinkedIn profiles using live Zoom meetings and Loom recordings under strict turn around times as a way to expedite completion of their job search materials
