ABOUT RACHEL FARMER
Hi! I\'m Rachel, a literary translator and conference interpreter working from French and German into English. That means I\'m just as comfortable making snap decisions in a high-stakes meeting as I am poring over the best way to translate a cultural reference in a novel. My favourite projects get me thinking in new ways, allow me to flex my creative muscles, and push me to improve at my craft. As my friends will tell you, I’m always looking for the next challenge, and I do best with plenty of variety in my work (perhaps why I’ve decided to combine two quite different language disciplines!). When you work with me, you get someone tenacious and determined, who does really good work and is a pleasure to partner with (if I do say so myself)! On the literary translation side, I work with publishers on full-length book translations, sample translations and reader reports of German and French fiction and non-fiction titles. As an interpreter, I am accredited with the EU institutions and the European Patent Office (EPO) and frequently work in high-level international meetings on a variety of technical topics.Combining creativity with precision is what I do best!To learn more about what I do, check out my website:
