Co-instructor for an undergraduate-level immersive experiential learning field course “Cycle the Rockies,” taught via a bicycle trip across Montana, focusing on energy and climate change in the American West. Course is accredited through UM as Environmental Studies 395: Field Studies of Climate Change in Montana (3 credits) and Natural Resource Science & Management 321: Field Studies of Energy Systems in Montana (3 credits). Position involves preparing lectures and interactive activities specific to the circular economy, solar energy technology, energy generation and storage, energy regulation, and climate change policy, and arranging visits with a coal mine, wind farm, clean tech R&D facilities, policy stakeholders, ranchers, community members, and others intertwined with energy and climate issues along the route. Responsible for guiding students hundreds of miles via bicycle, ensuring safety, performing first aid, performing bicycle maintenance, camping/cooking responsibilities, etc.
