About Rachel Webken

I am a dedicated public health professional with a career-long commitment to health advocacy and the practical application of epidemiology. My journey began in 2016 at Women Helping Women, where I supported survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Serving during the height of the Me Too movement, I witnessed firsthand the significant reproductive health barriers survivors face due to complex social determinants of health.Driven by these experiences, I earned my Master of Public Health (MPH) from The George Washington University in 2020. Since then, I have focused on translating public health theory into impactful community action-COVID-19 Response: Contributed to essential pandemic mitigation efforts as a contact tracer-Epidemiology: Transitioned to Hamilton County Public Health, specializing in maternal and child health (MCH) epidemiology and leading county-wide MCH fatality reviews-Grant Management: Developed an expertise in the full grant lifecycle, including application writing, tracking deliverables, and overseeing state-funded community health sub-grants-Funding Success: Successfully secured federal and state funding, including instrumental CDC grant awards for sudden death in infants and youth, as well as community outreach funding to sustain the work of Cradle Cincinnati.I aim to bridge the gap between data and community health, ensuring that epidemiological insights lead to tangible improvements in maternal and infant outcomes.
