ABOUT RACHEL VANASSE
Rachel is a professional engineer with over 12 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. She obtained a B.Sc. A in Mechanical Engineering and graduated with honours from the University of Ottawa. In 2014, she completed a M.Eng. in Engineering Management, in order to further develop her business acumen. Following her studies, Rachel joined the Corporate Development Group at Brookfield Renewable, where she assisted on strategic acquisitions of renewable assets, provided technical support to Brookfield Renewable’s operations, and assessed the viability of cutting-edge technologies. Since, she has been the technical lead on several due diligence efforts for North American acquisitions and financings.Rachel now holds the position of Director, Engineering & Technical Services in the Canadian Operations Group at Brookfield Renewable. In this role, she provides technical support on mergers, acquisitions and financing due diligence efforts. Additionally, she manages several development projects and assesses other growth initiatives. Rachel also leads the Climate Change Working Group with the objective to identify, reduce and mitigate the impacts of climate change across the business
