ABOUT RACHEL UMANSKY-CASTRO
I am currently the spring editorial intern at Punchbowl News, where I’ll be reporting on Capitol Hill. I recently wrapped up my fall internship on POLITICO’s Playbook team. This past May, I graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in criminal justice and journalism. Previously, I worked as a metro correspondent for The Boston Globe and as an investigative assistant at Brooklyn Defender Services. In 2024, I was selected to participate in the POLITICO Journalism Institute. I\'m a bilingual reporter fluent in Spanish, passionate about covering how current policies affect underrepresented communities.
