ABOUT RACHEL SULLIVAN
Rachel Sullivan is a Program Officer at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) for the Program on Violent Extremism, where she leads a portfolio of research on sub-Saharan Africa for the RESOLVE Network Secretariat. She is passionate about advancing evidence-based and locally-driven solutions to address the drivers of violent extremism and armed conflict around the world. In her current role, she manages research projects on community-based armed groups, violent extremist disengagement and reintegration, and localization in peacebuilding and P/CVE, leveraging her skills in conflict analysis, research design, and stakeholder engagement. Previously, Rachel worked in USIP\'s Africa Center on violent conflict in the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and the Sahel. Rachel holds a Master\'s Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University, a Graduate Certificate in Terrorism Analysis from the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), and a Bachelor\'s Degree from the University of Chicago with honors in Political Science and French Language & Literature.
