The Behavioral Health Initiatives & Coverage (BHIC) is responsible for the administration and performance of Medicaid State Plan services and programs. The services and programs include both physical health and behavioral health and span the managed care continuum from fee-for-service to fully capitated risk programs. Staff within the Office are responsible for stakeholder relations, policy development, implementation, grant oversight, contract management and performance, program administration, overall Medicaid program performance. The Office plays an role in achieving the Department\'s mission to improve access to cost-effective, quality healthcare services for Coloradans.*Oversee the design and implementation of the Primary Care and Behavioral Health Statewide Integration Grant program*Chairperson for the steering committee*Manage the daily operations of multiple work units*Determine the annual business plan that integrates the agency’s mission and goals implementation*Researches and ensures compliance with applicable state and federal rules and regulations for grants*Acts as liaison for accounting, financial services, procurement, contracting, and with other federal and state agencies*Responsible for the facilitation of meetings held for the purpose of planning the policy design.*Develops program policy, while serving as a community liaison between the Department and various community advisory, stakeholders and policy groups*Prepare reports that outline the implications of proposed legislation *Act as a clinical resource for the Department*Provide meaningful input and assume responsibility for activities related to HB 22-1302 Behavioral Health and Integrated Care across the life span of the grant including collaborative coding issues and advising the utilization management vendors contract manager when further assistance is needed*Daily contact with others outside the agency to clarify the department policies and regulations by educating others
