ABOUT RACHEL SANTOS

I am a program evaluation and learning specialist with a decade of experience facilitating strategic planning, implementing projects, and assessing outcomes for domestic and international non-profits, social enterprises, and private companies, and leading teams where I developed and managed local and remote staff. I have proven experience in relationship management, project design and grant and team management, coordination between public and private stakeholders, civil society outreach, fundraising, grants management, and partnership outreach. I am an entrepreneurial spirit with a diverse technical background in education, public health, governance, elections, advocacy, and social enterprises. I currently consult on program strategy design, monitoring and evaluation and reporting for various social impact projects. I have conducted political research in Egypt, Georgia, Afghanistan, and Uganda; supported electoral reform and stabilization programming in Afghanistan; and managed social enterprises focused on local governance, service delivery, education and economic development in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. In total, I have managed political and economic development initiatives in Afghanistan, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Malawi as well as business, research, education and advocacy initiatives in the United States. I hold an MA in Democracy and Governance from Georgetown University, a BA from the University of California, Davis in International Relations and African Studies and served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya from 20••••08, and am proficient in Swahili.
