I am a bridge inspector for the Bay Area toll bridges. We access the bridges with ladders, rope access, bucket trucks, boats, kayaks, and under bridge inspection truck (UBIT). We inspect the bridges for structural integrity and safety issues. We document our findings and make recommendations for repair in Bridge Inspection Reports mandated by the FHWA. We immediately notify the FHWA of any critical findings. We are on call in case of emergencies involving the Bay Area Toll Bridges.
