ABOUT RACHEL M.
As acquisitions editor in music & sound studies for Bloomsbury Academic, I commission broadly in popular music, ethnomusicology, sound studies, and related interdisciplinary subject areas, including works that emphasize social and cultural intersections with and within music and/or sound. I am also the editorial lead for the 33 1/3 Oceania series, for which 10 new titles were contracted in 2023. I have attended or will be attending conferences held by SEM, AMS, SAM, and ICMC to represent Bloomsbury Academic, connect with scholars and authors, and identify trends and developments in research. I have managed the forward program for the music and sound studies list since 2020 as an assistant editor (2022-24) and editorial assistant (2020-22), including the 33 1/3 series, and for the literary studies list, including the Object Lessons series (2020-22).
