At the beginning of my sophomore year at the University of Texas, I knew I wanted to study abroad. I could picture myself somewhere in Europe sipping on wine, site seeing and maybe doing a little bit of homework as the French countryside rolled along beside me. I attended a study abroad presentation at my business school that highlighted the different available programs. Many countries in Europe were on the list, but a different trip continued to catch my eye - a supply chain focused study abroad trip to China. On this trip, students would be able to follow the entire supply chain of multiple goods from a store in Austin, to the shipping ports in California and Hong Kong, all the way to the physical manufacturing site in China. I was sold. Since then, supply chain has been my passion (I even majored in it!). I have spent the last ten years of my career in different areas of supply chain. I have managed $20+ million RFPs, led clinical logistic shipments, oversaw critical vendor relationships, achieved cost savings, managed GMP material inventory, served as a main sourcing interface for my company and everything in between. My favorite part – helping my end users be successful by getting them what they need, when they need it. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books and discussing with my book club, pilates and baking. I am the textbook definition of an extrovert and love to make people smile.
