ABOUT RACHEL JESSEE
As a Scheduling Assistant in a personal office of a U.S. Senator, I have learned to thrive in the fast-paced environment of Capitol Hill. With a passion for public service, it has been an honor to be able to work with the Maryland Delegation to help the people of the great state of Maryland! My experience includes working closely with legislative staff and elected officials to prioritize engagements, prepare briefings, and facilitate smooth operations.Prior to working on the Hill, I was a Private English tutor in Madrid, Spain as I was dedicating time to study a new language after graduating with my Bachelor\'s from the University of Maryland College Park. Over the four years I spent at the University of Maryland, I enrolled in a variety of classes that have expanded my knowledge in both political science and history such as The Study of Comparative Politics, International Relations and History of America in the 1960s. I have first-hand experience interning at the Maryland House of Delegates and the United States Senate. I was honored to present my original research of the Cambridge Civil Rights Movement at the University of Maryland Undergraduate 2022 Research Day. Additionally, my paper \"The “Talbot Boys”: A Confederate Memory of Maryland’s Eastern Shore\" was published in the Fall 2020 edition of Janus: Maryland\'s Undergraduate History Journal.
