ABOUT RACHEL JEAN BETTS LEE

Rachel’s work has focused on mapping, participatory planning, education, and community outreach. She has developed a broad base of relevant experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), AutoCAD, Comprehensive Planning, the Creation and Maintenance of Databases, Surveying, and Project Management.Working both as a GIS Analyst for RWE, Grantworks, Inc. as well as an Independent Consultant accelerated her skills in ArcGIS. She has created databases and Maps for Solar and Battery Storage Projects, Comprehensive Planning, Environmental Reports, Transportation Infrastructure Projects, and Hazard Mitigation Studies. Utilizing ArcGIS, technical writing skills, and quantitative as well as qualitative methods of analysis has given her a unique advantage as an analyst. While living in Oregon she accelerated her skills as an educator and project manager. After working as Education Coordinator for the County Farm and Food Bank she worked as a Landscape Designer and Consultant. Rachel now has relocated back to Central Texas with her husband and is working as a GIS Manager for RWE.Rachel has worked as an analyst, planner, and designer on a wide variety of projects with Grantworks, Regenesis Ecological Design, the City of Austin, the City of San Marcos, & Texas State University. Rachel has over 8 years experience as a GIS Analyst, is a Certified Zero Waste Business Associate, a Certified Technical Writer, and is a member of the Congress for New Urbanism, the American Planning Association, and SMTX Permaculture.
