Civil engineer with over 40 years experience in the planning, design and construction of infrastructure including-rail & transit -roads and highways -bicycle and pedestrian paths and facilities -drainage and stormwater management -water & sanitary sewer systems -other utility systems -parks and recreation -power generation and transmission Composer, music producer, and church musician for 45 years. Multi-instrumentalist with 5 self-produced recordings including sacred and liturgical music, jazz, chamber music and improvisational piano and organ music. My experience has included all aspects of project development, from early planning assessments, to conceptual designs, through detailed design and through construction. Sample projects include-Union Square Improvements: project manager for the City of Somerville\'s consultants designing $72M of utility infrastructure & streetscape improvements, with an eye to the 2022 arrival of a new transit station. Includes construction oversight-Post Office Square Garage & Park: 7-story underground parking garage beneath 1.5-acre park -Commercial Feasibility Study: US Dept. of Transportation study considering the commercial feasibility of high speed and higher speed train service (90 to 200 mph) in 12 intercity corridors around the US. I assessed improvements to exiting rail lines, developed illustrative alignments for new high speed rail lines, and developed a spreadsheet-based trip time estimator to determine travel times along the new or improved corridors-Revere Beach Boulevard Improvements: streetscape & historic restoration of 1.5 miles at America\'s first public beach -Grand Junction Multi-Use Path: Principal author of a pro-bono report on the feasibility of a rail with trail through eastern Cambridge-Wickford Junction Station & Garage; Design Manager for $22M new commuter rail station & 1,100-car parking garage about 20 miles south of Providence, RI, along Amtrak\'s Northeast Corridor.
