ABOUT RACHEL HOOD

My credentialing journey probably started well before I even realized. As a youngster, I loved snooping and finding everything I needed to know about the people I interacted with. I was even a member of my school’s FFA Parliamentary Procedure Team (I thought this would be like Calculus and I’d never use again…I’d lost that bet!) I originally started my healthcare adventure as a medical assistant, then an endoscopy technician at the fabulous Scott and White Temple all while my dashing husband was off flying around in Blackhawk helicopters in all kind of destinations. Once we finished with his Army assignment, I became an executive assistant for the CFO & CNO of HCA Bayshore. The Great Linda Russell, CEO of The Womans Hosptial of Texas, saw something in me that she thought I’d make an excellent member of their MSO. Like virtually everyone else in the hospital, I wasn’t sure what the MSO did, but I was up for the challenge. And I immediately fell in love. I was a sponge and became addicted to the credentialing process, patient safety, and accreditation standards. Fast forward a decade later and I’m a proud Radiology Partner family member tackling their Joint Commission accreditation and spearheading our Delegated Credentialing Program. I get the best of all the credentialing privileging world while helping reduce burden of my hospital colleagues by assisting in implementing delegated credentialing. Contact me to learn more about delegated credentialing benefits.
