Rachel qualified in 1996 and spent the first 5 years working in the NHS learning and gaining invaluable experience on general medical conditions and musculo-skeletal medicine. Rachel then combined her knowledge as a Physio and ex county and regional tennis player, to set up a private Sports Injury clinic specialising in treatment & management of racket sports injuries. Rachel then established Physio Action with Gill Cannon in 2003 opening in David Lloyd Leisure Club first before expanding into Harrogate in 2004, and then Ilkley in 2013.Since qualifying Rachel has always worked in Rugby Union and has worked with all levels and age groups in Yorkshire and the North of England. She is currently the physio for Wharfedale Rugby Union Club and the senior Yorkshire team. In 2007 Rachel was appointed by the RFU as team Physiotherapist for England Counties team and currently provides medical cover for their Spring Internationals and Summer tour. She is a member of the faculty for the RFU Immediate Care in Sport course and is the physiotherapy advisor for a leading Independent school in Yorkshire.
