ABOUT RACHEL FISCHOFF
For the past 4 years, I have been working as a full-stack engineer building and evolving a web platform for cybersecurity insurance underwriters, brokers, and policy holders. The system supports secure customer data management, complex rating plans, cybersecurity posture scoring, and legally compliant document workflows. I have been an engineering project lead since 2023. Most recently, I led the implementation of a new rate plan (the logic that determines how much to charge for an insurance policy), which required coordinating the work of 6 engineers to make significant changes to a complex section of Corvus\'s codebase. During the process, I also facilitated all the requirements gathering and testing with stakeholders on actuarial teams. I regularly collaborate with product, design, data science, underwriting, brokers, external API partners, legal, and actuarial teams to define scope, groom tickets, and translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready systems.Before transitioning into engineering in 2020, I had a non-traditional path including time in law, nonprofit work, marketing, research, and many decades in the service industry.
