ABOUT RACHEL FISCHER
I am currently serving as a Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellow in the City of Boise, working as a Community Climate Action Coordinator between the mayor\'s office and the public works Climate Action team. I graduated with my Master\'s in Urban Planning from the Harvard GSD in May of 2025, and I am passionate about leveraging the built environment to create more equitable, inclusive spaces and communities. Before Harvard, I worked as a college counselor and educator, experiences that grounded my interdisciplinary, people-centered approach to community engagement and placemaking. Last summer, I served as a Summer Fellow in Shreveport, LA to assess systemic gaps in code enforcement exacerbating blight, and the previous summer I led the Mystic Greenways Asset Inventory Project with the Mystic River Watershed Association.Outside of work, I enjoy mentoring young designers and artists, creating art, flipping and tumbling on the gymnastics floor, and exploring the outdoors.
