About Rachel Field
I am a first-year Biological Sciences PhD student at UC San Diego/the Salk Institute, researching the development and organization of the gliovascular unit. Before graduate school, I graduated with distinction from Duke University in May 2025 with a B.S. in Biology (concentration: Molecular and Cellular Biology) and minor in Chemistry. At Duke, I researched mechanisms underlying X-linked intellectual disability type Nascimento, and I wrote a thesis on this work. Formerly, I interned for five summers at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, with experience in the Neuroscience Therapeutic Focus Area and Research Pharmacokinetics Group.
