ABOUT RACHEL CRIPPS
I have spent nearly two decades working in the UK conservation sector, a career driven by a practical interest in field ecology and the protection of native species. My work now focuses on the use of detection dogs as a tool for ecological monitoring and biosecurity. Through RM Conservation, I help ecologists and project managers gather reliable field data on species that are often difficult to find using traditional methods, from GCN in terrestrial habitats to bat carcasses on infrastructure sites.Parallel to my own consultancy, I work with the RSPB as a biosecurity detection dog handler. This dual perspective allows me to stay connected to the latest research and biosecurity protocols while delivering reliable results in the field for the projects I support.Ultimately, I’m interested in combining my conservation, dog training, and field experience to help get the best possible data for the projects I work on.
