About Rachel Beerman
I am a security policy professional with 7 years of experience working on research, analysis and consultancy / policy advice in diverse international contexts. From December 2013 to October 2018, I worked at Ecorys Netherlands as a member of the company’s Security and Justice unit. My work focused on evidence-based research studies and policy advice on behalf of the European Commission (DG Home, DG Justice) on topics related to EU migration policies and governance, including irregular migration, return and readmission and migrant protection; the fight against fraud, corruption, organized crime and terrorist threats; and cross-border disaster risk and crisis management, with side projects in the aviation and space domains (DG Move, DG Grow). Prior to my work at Ecorys, I worked at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, Israel. There I conducted research on political developments and trends pertaining to security, peace and stability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including regional security dynamics and strategic alliances with the United States and European Union.
