Rachael launched YouthWell in 2016 to address the gaps in mental health services for youth (ages 5-25) and to expand the dialogue with 60+ key stakeholders and increase community collaboration. Convene Community Collaborative to improve outcomes and affect systemic change through collective impact. Work to eliminate stigma, fill the gaps, and remove barriers to services so youth and families can access the care they need in a timely manner through a warm handoff. Convene Youth Linkages Network monthly to educate resource navigators, probation officers, and school counselors in order to build stronger health linkages and close the loop.3. Convene Youth Advisory Board. High school students develop leadership and advocacy skills, with a focus on community engagement, and eliminating stigma.4. Host annual Student Advocacy and Wellness Summit where teens learn to amplify their voices on issues that matter to them.5. Provided online Family Resource Directory & Community Calendar in English and Spanish. Find treatment programs, crisis helplines, therapists, and aftercare resources. The Community Calendar lists workshops, support groups, classes, and more. Develop and distribute Resource Rack Cards, posters, and journals to schools. Provide education with free Support Groups and wellness workshops on a variety of topics for students, parents, and those working with youth. Coordinate and host Mental Health First Aid and QPR trainings. Training empowers teens, parents, educators, and other caring adults with tools and strategies. They learn to recognize signs and how to help someone struggling with a mental health challenge.[In 2024, YouthWell taught 706 adults and students in Santa Barbara County MHFA/QPR.]8. Provide a Family Care Coordination Center. Wellness Navigators & Care Coordinators meet with families, listen, support, refer, and help families connect to programs.9. Outreach. Host tables at events and provide community presentations.

Rachael Ross Steidl is focused on opening up conversations and developing more programming and support around youth mental health. Rachael is the founder and Executive Director of YouthWell. Rachael launched YouthWell in 2016 to address the gaps in mental health services for youth (ages 5-25) and to expand the dialogue with 60+ key stakeholders and increase community collaboration. Rachael developed YouthWell\'s prevention and early intervention initiatives focused on mental health and wellness education and a social awareness campaign (our mental health matters) in order to empower families and eliminate stigma, while working with community partners to improve access to coordinated care so that youth and their families can connect to mental health and wellness resources before the crisis.YouthWell provides Family Care Coordination and Wellness Navigators, a Youth Advocacy Board as well as an annual Student Summit, an online Youth & Family Mental Health & Wellness Resource Directory and Community Calendar. YouthWell hosts Support Groups, Wellness Workshops, and Mental Health First Aid training for youth, parents, and those working with youth, in order to eliminate stigma and open up conversations about teen mental health.(YouthWell.org)Rachael designed the Wellness Connection Clubs and Council in partnership with the Mental Wellness Center (wcclubs.org) working with 150+ students each year on \"mental health awareness\" on 5 high school campuses. She spent 5 years educating students on mental health, developing their leadership skills, and strengthening communication and listening skills.Rachael is also the founder and former publisher of the ParentClick Network which she sold in 2016 after fourteen years. She has over 25 years of experience in management, marketing, community engagement, and strategic planning. She is the mother of 3 daughters and a Santa Barbara native.
