About Rachael Sinnen

I was first appointed in December 2020 (and re-appointed July 2023) by Governor Pritzker to serve as Arbitrator for the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission. I am also an adjunct professor at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law teaching evidence and trial advocacy as well as coaching its nationally ranked trial team. From January 2015 through December 2020, I worked as a Spanish speaking attorney at Elfenbaum Evers, and Zielinska, P.C, in Chicago, Illinois helping injured workers with their Illinois Workers’ Compensation claims. I previously focused on workers’ compensation defense at Knell O\'Connor Danielewicz and have handled plaintiff’s personal injury/nursing home cases in the past at other firms. I have been a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois since November 2011. I am also admitted to the General and Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois.

   The Cook County Board of Ethics is responsible for enforcing the Cook County Ethics Ordinance, which applies to officials, employees, persons doing or seeking to do business with the County, persons regulated by the County, and persons seeking official action by the County. The Board enforces the Code of Conduct by investigating complaints of Ordinance violations and conducting related audits, issuing advisory opinions and providing other ethics advice, and designing and delivering ethics and other types of training sessions. Main functions include rendering advice to Cook County officials, employees, and others governed by the County\'s Ethics Ordinance, and investigating violations of Cook County’s Ethics Ordinance.
