ABOUT RACHAEL DICKSON
I\'m starting as an assistant professor of law at Willamette University School of Law in August 2025! I\'ve been living in the DC area since January 2017 and have been working here as a trademark attorney in some way ever since. I was a trademark examiner at the USPTO for over four years, and for about 2 of those years, I specialized in cannabis trademarks. I now run the trademark and copyright departments at Lloyd and Mousilli. I also have my own solo practice focused on trademark prosecution and advising other trademark attorneys. I research and write about cannabis trademarks, discrimination in the trademark ID manual, the USPTO\'s application of the lawful use requirement for trademark applications, and the intellectual property protections of immersive art experiences. I have a research paper on cannabis trademarks coming out in May 2025.
