ABOUT RACHAEL MILLIGAN

I desire to ignite and fuel the love of learning and continuous growth in my students and fellow colleagues, while fostering compassion and curiosity about the world. I began as the Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Abilene Christian University in August of 2024.Prior to that, I served as Assistant Dean in Lipscomb University’s College of Education, Executive Director of the Ayers Institute for Learning and Innovation, and Associate Professor. Prior to joining Lipscomb, I served as an assistant principal in Williamson County Schools in Tennessee. Additionally, I have been a house parent at the Tennessee Children’s Home, the Director of 21st Century Community Learning Centers, and a social studies teacher in Arkansas and in Tennessee. I love being a thinking partner with teachers, leaders, colleagues, and students. I enjoy teaching courses in coaching, leadership, and instructional practice, as well as facilitating professional learning seminars and workshops centering on leadership and the coaching mindset. I have served on many committees, task force groups, and boards at the local, state, and international levels. I enjoy listening, making connections, taking journeys, and sharing stories.I seek to inspire curiosity in everything and to motivate learning, everywhere.
