ABOUT RACHAEL MANION
I am a seasoned executive with over 20 years’ experience in health advocacy. A lawyer by profession with a strong background in policy analysis, I have consistently supported the not-for-profit sector in different managerial and volunteer roles throughout my career. I am committed to health literacy, evidence-informed decision-making, and patient engagement. Prior to joining the CSPA, I served as a lawyer for Health Canada and advised on the regulation of science policy and novel therapies and technologies. I helped patient organizations navigate the ever-changing policy, political and regulatory landscape across Canada, and was also a devoted frontline worker at a community health centre for the street-entrenched population. As the former Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Psoriasis Patients (CAPP) – which I ran alongside the CSPA from 2019 to 2022 – I often participate as a guest speaker at international conferences on patient advocacy. Enthusiastic and driven, I excel at cultivating strategic collaborations to fulfill the mission of the CSPA and bring about positive change for people living with skin conditions.
