ABOUT RACHAEL KER
I am a UK & European patent attorney at Abel+Imray in the Physics, Engineering and IT department.I graduated in 2020 with a 1st Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Surrey. During my time at Surrey, I completed a professional training year at Ricardo Technical Consulting, working as an Engine Simulation Engineer and Project Manager within Engine Testing. It was during this time that my knowledge and interest in automotive engines grew, specifically in efficient engines for hybrid vehicles which I believe are a vital part of the UK’s path to net zero.I am also an active volunteer in STEM, encouraging young people to take up study and careers in Science, Technology and Maths. I also volunteer as a Side-by-Side volunteer with Alzheimer\'s UK, making weekly visits to help people with dementia.Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, singing and musical theatre. I make frequent (restrictions allowing) trips to France to visit friends I met during my summer seasons when I worked in Entertainment - and to brush up on my French!
