About Rachael Hopp
After 3.5 years at the University of Alabama, 2 summers at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, and a lifelong passion for marine science, I have found a position with the state of Alabama with the Marine Resources Division. In this position I have developed many skills, including captaining vessels, trailering vessels, and marine vertebrate and invertebrate identification. I have also become a vital member of the age and growth lab team specializing in otolith processing, which consists of sectioning otoliths from various marine species, preparing them to be read for age data.
