ABOUT RACHAEL HARLAND

I am a Psychology BSc (Hons) graduate and am currently working as Project Manager in employee engagement / satisfaction research at Ipsos Karian & Box. Where I was previously supplier focused in my role of Fieldwork Partnerships Manager at Blue Yonder Research, I am now project focused.In my previous role I sourced the best global suppliers for fieldwork, devised and implement processes to enhance quality, efficiency and standardisation and managed my own team. Prior to this I was Senior Research Operations Executive focusing on Qualitative and international research, working on the complex logistics, recruitment and timing aspects of projects with our partner recruiters and agencies. Before Blue Yonder, I was a Project Manager at Luto Research working directly with clients managing User and Usability testing, as well as carrying out Project Assistant responsibilities interviewing members of the public and HCP\'s in both one to one and group sessions to carry out the research. As a project manager, I was involved with: data collection, face-to-face interviews, analysing medical information, writing reports, planning timelines for projects, proof-reading and comparisons, and sometimes got involved with artwork. Prior to this I was involved with supporting adults who had learning difficulties on a 1-1 basis, and I have worked as a SEN teaching assistant in both paid and voluntary roles. I volunteered with Blurt working as a peer support moderator for their electronic support network and Student Minds as a member of the executive committee, providing telephone supervision to students who are running support groups for students experiencing eating disorders. When I first arrived at Leeds Metropolitan I knew I wanted to help people in some way, and to stand out, I founded and became President of LMPS/ Leeds Metropolitan Psychology Society. With my position in the society I ran academic events and socials for students, opened a website and Facebook group to allow for members to gain information from each other, and the society committee and we also provided a more direct link between lecturers and students. When I was asked to be a course rep, I attended a student board meeting to discuss the re-accreditation of the Psychology undergraduate course at Leeds Met with The British Psychological Society. At this meeting The BPS \'highly commended\' Leeds Met Psychology Society and I was a member and student representative of The BPS at Leeds Metropolitan. I then gained the role of representing the psychology department as a Student Marketing Ambassador.
