   Researches, plans, designs, and administers a variety of building projects (i.e, department of defense, commercial, healthcare, retail/distribution, institutional) for public and/or private clients. Works independently and directly with the client on projects and requires little guidance. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Plans layout of project and integrates engineering elements (i.e. M/E/P, civil, structural) with architectural elements, into a unified design for client review and approval. Prepares scale drawings and construction documents for building contractors. Represents clients in obtaining bids and awarding contracts for construction of said project. Administers construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction phase, to monitor and insure construction complies with the architectural and engineering plans provided. Prepares operating and maintenance manuals, as well as various studies, and reports. Prepares project designs and plans using computer assisted design software and equipment such as AutoCAD. May direct activities of other architects, intern architects, and designers responsible for preparing drawings and specification documents. Performs other duties assigned.
