R. Scott Long, Founding Partner, has a broad-based litigation practice. His primary areas of practice include product liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, toxic tort, coverage litigation, and asbestos defense. He briefed and argued Bowers v. Westinghouse, a notable medical monitoring case. He serves both plaintiffs and defendants, including individuals, privately held entities, and Fortune 100 companies. He has extensive experience handling class action litigation. He also has a substantial practice as a mediator. Long was a senior editor of West Virginia Law Review and senior editor of the National Coal Issue. He has also been recognized by several national publications including, Chambers, USA, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and Litigation Magazine in the area of Corporate Litigation. He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Charleston.
