In this position I focus on supplier quality for high reflective laser optics. I work closely together with purchasing, development, product management, incoming quality control as well as production and our suppliers to find the best possible solutions for our processes and products. In a cross functional team we work in a project format to increase efficiency and adjust our strategies for our laser mirror components where necessary. In addition to that, I take responsibility for the quality assurance of our high-end encoder parts which are used in high precision systems. ABOUT RITSKE SJOERD RIEMERSMA

My professional path was already paved long before I started actually working full time, without me being aware of this when it all started. My first part time job took off when I was around 14 years old when my uncle asked me if I was interested to come by on weekends and during holidays to do some small chores in his metalworking company. It typically started with sweeping the floor, but pretty soon he taught me the basics of more thrilling activities such as drilling, punching, cutting, sawing, milling and welding. I really enjoyed learning these new skills and noticed that I was pretty soon overthinking processes to make the production run more efficiently. At that moment I decided for myself that I wanted to work in a technical profession later on in life. From that first part time job it took quite some time and effort to get to my current role as an industrial engineer, like finding the right studies, living in the right country and city, and working in the right company, but my patience paid off. Now looking back at that process, I am very satisfied and grateful about the experiences I had and the people I met, who helped me to move forward. But I’m also thankful for the things that didn’t work out for me, because they taught me who I am and what I want to do on a daily basis. Looking back at the professional path I’ve traveled so far, makes me realize that I strive to work smart, want to help other people to achieve great results together, as well as pursuing perfection in everything that I do, even if it comes down to doing the dishes or folding the clean laundry. When I am not overthinking processes or analyzing yield figures, I enjoy beating myself up in daily endurance training to defeat my biggest competitor (my former self) and reach new personal bests in running a marathon or racing in triathlons.
