Ron is a partner in the firm and leads the overall lobbying and advocacy practice. Since joining Advantus Strategies in January, 2002 (then LeClair Ryan Consulting), he has been instrumental in acquiring several Top 200 corporate accounts and currently leads numerous client service teams. Ron has an extensive network of contacts and a sophisticated understanding of the procedural and political context of state government policy and operating practices. His experience in turning ideas into action has been instrumental in bringing diverse groups together to solve problems and successfully implement new programs.He is very active in the community currently serving on the Board of Directors for a number of Virginia and Richmond area organizations, including the Virginia YMCA, the Henrico County Drug Court Steering Committee and the Excellence in Virginia Government awards committee of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Farms of New Kent Community Development Authority, a public entity established to provide infrastructure financing for a large mixed use development in New Kent County. While Chairman of this entity, Ron oversaw the successful issuance of the largest CDA financing in the Commonwealth to date. He continues to serve on the Administrative Council of Providence United Methodist Church as Finance Chairman. He also is a past adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University having taught at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
