My work focuses on violence prevention, community safety, and building sustainable change in underserved communities.My career has been shaped by a central question: how do we build safer communities while strengthening trust between institutions and the people they serve?Today, I serve as Director of Community Transformation at the Neighborhood Resilience Project in Pittsburgh, where I lead collaborative violence prevention initiatives that bring together public agencies, community organizations, and public safety leaders. My work focuses on convening cross-sector partners to develop coordinated strategies that address the root causes of violence, strengthen trauma-informed response systems, and support community resilience.Prior to this work, I served as a Detective in the Special Victims Unit with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and as a member of the department’s Tactical Negotiation Team. Investigating violent crime, supporting victims, and negotiating crisis situations provided firsthand insight into the complexities of violence and the critical need for systems that are both effective and community-centered.I hold a Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. My research and professional interests include violence prevention, policing reform, conflict resolution, and policy strategies that bridge divides between institutions and communities.Across both research and practice, my work focuses on building collaborative strategies that reduce violence and strengthen community resilience.Ultimately, my work is focused on building sustainable change by strengthening the systems, partnerships, and policies that support underserved communities.
