I am a senior at Barnard College of Columbia University, with a passion for unraveling the intricate workings of the human brain and its relationship with trauma and chronic illness predisposition, specifically the development of cancer. I am majoring in Neuroscience & Behavior and minor in science and public policy, paving the way for a rewarding career in medicine and research.I envision myself attending a joint phd/md program and eventually becoming a physician, specializing in pediatric oncology. By combining my love for working with children and my unwavering curiosity in cancer research, I aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families.In addition to my clinical aspirations, I am deeply drawn to research. Specifically, I am fascinated by the complex interplay between cellular epigenetic mutations and multigenerational emotional, physical, and environmental trauma. By exploring these connections, I hope to contribute to our understanding of how trauma can predispose individuals to the development of chronic illnesses.Volunteering and helping others have always been integral parts of my life.
