About Quinnell Smith

Our entire lives we search for ways to integrate our passions into our careers. As I prepare to enter corporate America and begin my work with a renowned company after graduation, I carry with me my dreams, personal and professional goals, and experiences that have shaped me into the strong, futuristic, and innovative young woman I am today. While I am just beginning by career journey, I am excited about the impact my perspective and knowledge will make in the world. While at Georgia Tech, I admired my mechanical engineering and industrial design education more each day. The institution allowed me to met people from around the world, travel to over 12 countries in a year, intern with four Fortune 500 companies, mentor over 80 students throughout my tenor, and met other student leaders from around the nation by participating in programs such as the NACME C.A.S.E. Academy, NSBE Regional and National Conventions, and the Harvard Business School Summer Venture in Management Program. As my undergraduate career came to a close this May 2020, I was able to reflect on these times and am grateful for the education I have received and support system I have gained. I credit many of these experiences and accomplishments to my amazing institution, scholarship programs, corporation initiatives, and most importantly, exposure. Exposure is impactful; it is one of the major keys to knowledge and a catalyst to a person\'s success. I am grateful for those that have exposed me, a small town girl from Louisiana, to the world and feel it is one of my duties and passions in life to do the same for others. Saying this, as I enter the workforce I plan to work inside and outside of work to help expose more young children to education, programs, and academic support. My goal is to elevate my education and work experience to integrate business, design, technology, and social outreach to improve the quality of life for all people in the world. As a Mechanical Engineer with an Industrial Design minor, my work is ingrained with quality, marketability, new and advanced technological ideas, and a strong focus on engineering ethics to keep a human lens on future technologies. While technology, engineering, and helping others are some of my greatest passions. I also enjoy traveling, art, dancing, learning about other cultures, and photography. As I continue my career and personal journey, I hope to stay true to my passions and dreams. As Denzel Washington says,\"Dreams without goals are just dreams.\"
