ABOUT JAMES DAVIES
Recruitment and talent acquisition professional with experience supporting early-stage and scaling technology companies in technically complex domains, including quantum computing, quantum communications, and other deep-tech environments.My work has focused on partnering closely with founders, engineering leaders, and HR teams to deliver hard-to-fill roles, while also helping decision makers build confidence in their hiring approach. This has involved understanding what is working well today, where processes or expectations could be improved, and taking stakeholders on an evidence-led journey that shows how changes to role scope, location, seniority, or requirements materially affect the available talent pool. The aim has been to create alignment and buy-in around hiring decisions, leading to stronger outcomes and a better experience for everyone involved.Much of my experience has sat at the intersection of hands-on recruitment delivery and longer-term TA capability building, particularly in environments where hiring processes were informal, fragmented, or heavily reliant on external support. The focus has been on helping teams make better hiring decisions and put stronger foundations in place as they scale.Prior to moving into recruitment, I worked in hands-on engineering roles within telecommunications and electronics, which has given me a practical understanding of complex technical systems and the realities faced by engineering teams.
