Our firm is dedicated to advocating for the education and discrimination rights of special needs children, the immigrant community, and communities of color. ABOUT QIAN JULIE WANG

Note: I only use LinkedIn for hiring for my firm and do not check messages. If you are attempting to contact me for other purposes, please reach out to my agents/publicists (info at or write me via other means. Thank you and I look forward to connecting—In law, as in life, narrative is everything. My gift lies in fluidly translating between the law and the real world. Be it to a group of jurors or a panel of judges, my clients rely on me to paint in vivid colors their stories and the remedies they deserve. I love advocacy-oral and written-and foremost for me are the human element in each case. Balancing a focus on details with big-picture thinking, I pride myself on bringing the law to life and the life to law. With nearly a decade of experience in complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels, I have represented Fortune 500 companies, individuals, and governmental agencies in a wide array of litigation under, for instance, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Americans with Disability Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. I have particular experience with appeals. Aside from having clerked on two appellate courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, I have co-authored two amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court. I have also briefed and argued over 40 civil cases in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and in New York state appellate courts. I also have unique experience representing plaintiffs in suits against major law firms, having secured record-setting settlement efficiently, and in some cases even prior to filing. A first-generation immigrant with roots in the inner city, I am humbled daily by where I now find myself. I am now managing partner of a firm dedicated to giving back to the very communities that carried me here. Gottlieb & Wang LLP focuses on representing the education and discrimination rights of special needs children, immigrant communities, and communities of color. In recognition of my passion for public interest law, in 2019 the judges of the Second Circuit selected me for its panel of pro bono attorneys committed to providing to indigents appellate representation of the highest caliber.I am delighted that my first book, Beautiful Country, a literary memoir about my experiences living as an undocumented child in New York City, was an instant New York Times bestseller and was named a best book of 2021 by the New York Times, President Obama, NPR, Newsweek, and more. I’m currently working on a historical novel.
