In my role at Tesco, an array of responsibilities is entrusted upon me, which includes key elements such as the proficient management of trolley stock flow and the supervision of both self-checkouts and manned checkouts. The first aspect sees me ensuring that there is a consistent and efficient flow of trolleys for customers, streamline procedures in place for the retrieval and redistribution of trolleys in the car park and store entrances, and implementing strategies which maximises customer convenience. My role also encompasses the management of self-checkouts, a position that requires me to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, mitigating technical issues, guiding customers through the self-checkout process when required and ensuring a smooth customer journey. Oversight of manned checkouts involves ensuring optimal cash handling, balancing transactions and playing an active role in preventing potential fraud.
