Continual learning may be visible in the zeitgeist but it has always been the fundamental function of progress and evolution. I have always appraised tangible evidence to be my belief system and hence gravitated towards analytics, data assessment and their eventual contribution towards progressive outcomes. So, I happened to be one of the lucky few who identified information systems security as the preferred subset of IT to conform to. The only counterweight to technology, sometimes, may be monotony. Cybersecurity being multifaceted in technology and niched in deployment, is immune to such plateau. It’s perhaps the only discipline where aptitude for going on a tangent is incentivised. And judging by cybersecurity ecosystem, current & future trajectory, I feel my interests, epistemological & more, are perfectly aligned with the domain\'s. My experience in network security has perfectly dovetailed into my pivot into core cybersecurity via Post-Graduate Certificate in INSS at Georgian College- with incident response being equally fascinating as prevention through vulnerability assessment and penetration testing. While I have barely scratched the surface, the program has made me astute in cybersecurity fundamentals— Linux/Windows Systems Security/Forensics, Threat Modelling/Hunting, Cryptography, Penetration Testing, AWS, PaloAlto Firewall, Network configuration (CISCO), Docker, Python, Active Directory, Tenable Nessus, Splunk and more. So, I feel I am amply forearmed to be proactively conducive to an organisation’s security objectives as much as I possibly can- and then some.
