About Eugenia Pyntikova
I balance my role at the WBG as an anti-corruption and sanctions attorney with teaching and research. In my daily work, I am a member of a wonderful team at the Sanctions Board Secretariat, which supports the WBG Sanctions Board - an independent and final decision maker that considers allegations of private sector misconduct in projects financed or supported by the World Bank Group. In addition to advising on sanctions matters, I enjoy contributing to the Bank Group\'s broader anti-corruption agenda via outreach and research initiatives. It is my belief that I and other specialists in this sector have a responsibility to support transparency and data literacy with an eye toward speaking to all of our diverse stakeholders.Although my work at the World Bank Group has focused on integrity and sanctions, I came to this institution with a background in global public health and international law. I remain passionate about the many intersections of international law, human rights, and public health, and in my recent work I have looked closely at how corruption - both private and public - corrodes global efforts to provide solutions in all three sectors. In my personal life, I enjoy travel and learning new things, including languages. I value opportunities to collaborate, work on joint research, or even just brainstorm together, so please feel free to reach out and connect.
