About Pushkar Chaudhari
I design and build power electronic converters and permanent magnet motor drives. Having worked on numerous industrial projects for the last five years, I have an eye for designing efficient systems and building control architectures for electric vehicles (EVs), Solar-PV, and microgrids. I enjoy generating new ideas to improve system efficiency, power density (compactness) and cost. I have been a part of various team projects and I strongly believe that the greatest of the things can be achieved by brilliant people working together than working separately.My personal mission is to excel at what I do. Power Electronic Converters (DC-DC, DC-AC)- Detailed switching device modeling (Si/GaN FETs)- Converter modeling (state-space averaging for DC-DC converters and DQ model for DC-AC converters)- Control architecture design for the converter system (PID, State feedback control, State estimation)- Embedded systems programming for microchip, TI processors - PCB design and fabrication - Hardware testing and post-analysis2. Motor Drives - Modeling induction and permanent magnet machines in DQ frame - Vector control, Direct torque control (DTC) for induction and permanent magnet machines - Double layer winding design for permanent magnet machines - FEM modeling and simulation (Speed®, MAGNET®)3. Systems - Electric Vehicles (EV)/Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) – Complete vehicle modeling, Li-ion battery, and ultracapacitor sizing, Battery and ultracapacitor management systems, traction motor control, driver model with Indian Driving Cycle - Microgrids – Solar plant with MPPT, battery charge controller, droop based load sharing control on DC-bus and AC-bus, battery sizing - Solar Pump – Sensorless control of BLDC motor with single-stage power conversion and MPPT4. Programming / Scripting - Python, Visual Basic®, MATLAB, Simulink®, Embedded C - Data acquisition – High-speed data acquisition (based on UART, SPI) from processors for real-time debugging
