At AWS, he was hired to build the professional services team focused on Energy Vertical from the ground up. He successfully built delivery capabilities for the energy vertical by scaling it from a $2M+(2 Customers, 5 people) business in 2018 to a $30M+ business (20 Customers, 50 people) in 2022 at a CAGR of 73% and a 10x team growth. He was deeply involved in many transformational deals with major energy customers for AWS (ExxonMobil, Occidental, Shell, bp, TC Energy etc.)Sury came to AWS from Halliburton (Leading oil-field services company, Fortune 100) where he was Sr. Manager for commercialization for Drilling, Production and Economics business line ($40M+ revenue). Sury managed the field roll-out and commercialization for Halliburton\'s first cloud-native Drilling solution overseeing a group of 100+ developers. Prior to this role, Sury led the consulting group for Production at Halliburton scaling it to a $50M+ business globally over 3 years with 50+ consultants globally. His team delivered 30 projects for O&G majors globally in 10 countries (across 6 continents), helping customers improve oil recovery, prevent production loss, and reduce downtime.Sury holds a MS degree in Engineering from University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology. He is also a recognized Energy Industry expert with 20+ publications that have received 100+ citations.Sury lives in Houston and is an avid traveler.
