ABOUT PURNJAY PARMAR
What if you could choose passion over convention, even when you don’t have to? Hi, I’m Purnjay. My journey began like many others in India—set on the path to engineering, a ‘safe’ & ‘prestigious’ choice in a culture where options are often predetermined. But deep down, I knew there was more for me. In my first year of college, a spark ignited when I discovered graphic design. What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession, and soon I was the go-to designer for every college club that needed one. I didn’t stop there. I studied design principles, took online courses, and immersed myself in the world of creativity. This passion evolved into Web design, leading to the hardest decision of my life—walking away from a coveted dual-degree program to follow a path that, at the time, felt like jumping into the unknown. It wasn’t easy. Family expectations loomed, and convincing everyone (including myself) wasn’t a smooth ride. But I trusted my instincts, believing that passion and perseverance would lead me somewhere extraordinary. By the start of my third year, that belief paid off. I became the first in my batch to secure a job—with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), no less—as a Design Consultant. My work there exceeded expectations, earning me a full-time role & rapid promotions. Today, at 22, I’m a happily designing, proving that unconventional choices can lead to remarkable destinations. Yet, even with a dream job, I felt something was missing. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to build something of my own. Over two years, alongside two friends, I explored multiple stuffs: a storytelling t-shirt business, a web services startup & platforms for young entrepreneurs. Each effort taught me invaluable lessons, but none felt like the perfect fit. Enter Sulphr—my creative agency and my boldest endeavor yet. Sulphr isn’t just about websites; it’s about empowering creators to share their stories and turn their dreams into reality. While I take care of the technicalities, my clients focus on what truly matters: their passion. This philosophy stems from my own journey—a blend of struggles, hope & determination that led me here. I am, at my core, a designer who thrives on creating, a young entrepreneur still learning and experimenting, and someone deeply committed to making an impact. Whether it’s crafting seamless web experiences or sharing lessons from my own path, I aim to inspire others to choose courage over comfort. Because sometimes, the most fulfilling roads are the ones we pave ourselves.
