   My research is mainly on game-theoretic exploration of conflicts. I specifically study the strategic behavior of the conflicting parties and its impact on the conflict intensity. As a PhD student I have worked on the following aspects of conflicts:1) How revenge motivations and third-party intervention influence the strategic behavior of the conflicting parties and the intensity of the conflict using a two-period sequential game. 2) I have worked on quantifying revenge using a desire-capability function and tried to capture the different effects (vengeance effect, self-deterrence effect and incapacitation effect) of revenge on conflict intensity. Again using a two-period sequential game I have have studied how revenge motivations influence the behavior of the conflicting parties and the intensity of the conflict. 3) Currently I am working on a 2-player, 2-types sequential incomplete information game that tries to explain the behavior of a government and protesters during an external shock, especially considering the example of a pandemic. This work aims to study how the strategies of the players and the protest intensity change with the level of the shock.
