About Pui Kwan Chan
Growing up in Hong Kong and receiving my higher education in the United States, I have seen both eastern, and western ways of living and learning. More importantly, it allows me to appreciate the infinite possibilities in human behavior and the treatment of mental illness. Indeed, what contributes to one’s wellness is a balance of the psychology of “me” and the psychology of “we,” which ultimately creates an “us.” Instead of seeing mentally-ill or intellectual disabled people as society’s disapprovals and rejections, I see them as valued unique individuals as a societal whole. I believe in the infinite possibilities of humans rather than being fixated on ideologies and labeling. My goal is to inspire people to appreciate uncertainty and educate them on how having that mindset could improve their well-being.
