ABOUT SELINA GRIFFIN
Helping the Open University maintain its stance at the cutting edge of online and distance education by being involved in supporting its amazing learning systems and the people who do the work behind them! I have a EdD (doctorate in education)- a mixed methods study combining predictive modelling and interviews to look at drop-out in the public speaking organisation, Toastmasters. You can read my thesis on Open Research Online https://oro.open.ac.uk/102495/I enjoy fitness and I\'m a qualified Exercise to Music instructor, running coach and Pound Pro, teaching Pound classes locally.I am really interested in mental health and wellbeing and how group exercise can support this.I have considerable experience in Higher Education in team, project, programme, change and stakeholder management. I am also an influential, confident, and able communicator, invited to speak internationally as a subject matter expert. I enjoy studying and nurturing and supporting my staff and colleagues. I also provide consultancy services for the Philanthropy Company - advising on operational and data fundraising matters for establishments in HE. I have been a leader in my local public speaking club (Toastmasters), mentoring and encouraging other members on their professional and personal journeys.
